Member CornerChristiana Haight Administrative Secretary for the Office of University Communications  Hello! My name is Christiana Haight, and I joined SVSU in October 2024 as the Administrative Secretary in the Office of University Communications. In my role, I get to support a wide variety of projects across campus, from coordinating communications to helping keep track of the many moving pieces behind our creative work. One of my favorite parts of the job is the people. I love getting to know others here on campus who care deeply about SVSU and put so much heart into what they do. Being involved with SSA has added another layer of community for me, and I’ve met some great people because of it. I currently serve as chair of the Communications Committee, where our team works together on member emails, newsletters, and important updates. It’s very important to me that our members feel informed and supported, especially as we navigate changes and challenges together. Outside of work, most of my world revolves around my two daughters. We spend a lot of time painting and doing crafts together. Our kitchen table is usually covered in brushes, paper, or whatever project we started the night before. Poetry is another creative outlet that grounds me, and I love attending readings and workshops at the Roethke House whenever I can. When the weather is warm, you’ll usually find us exploring parks, trails, or anywhere that lets the girls run freely and burn off some energy. I’m truly grateful to be part of SVSU and the SSA community. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow in my career, supporting the people I work with, and contributing to a campus environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and encouraged.
