Member CornerDawn Gillespie Treasurer  Hello, my name is Dawn Gillespie. I currently serve as the Administrative Assistant in The Charter Collaborative Office (formerly the School/University Partnership Office). I’ve held this position since the office's inception in 1995, after joining the University in 1994 through a grant-funded program called Earth Vision. A fun fact: the second director of our charter office was actually my 5th-grade teacher! In my role, I support 18 public school academies authorized by SVSU. I work closely with school boards and leadership teams on compliance matters, among many other responsibilities. I’m also a notary public. Over the years, I’ve witnessed many changes at the University—and within the union as well. I currently serve as the Treasurer of our union and am grateful for the dedicated members who serve both on and off the Executive Board. Outside of work, I served for 25+ years as the Worship Leader at the church I attend. I enjoy golfing, geocaching, playing the violin, as well as teaching myself piano, and creating art, whether digitally or on canvas. I love spending time with my family, including four wonderful grandchildren. I also enjoy glamping and going on adventures with my husband, Dave, to whom I’ve been married for 30 years.
