​ Hi! I have been the Faculty Secretary for Biology & Physics for approximately 4 years. I graduated from SVSU in 2011 with a BA in History and expanded my studies at Indiana University receiving a MA in Islamic Studies & Arabic. I moved back to the area because Michigan is where my heart and my family is. I love the outdoors and have recently become absorbed in the bird watching world. I am married to my husband (who I met at SVSU) and we have one son who is the light of my life. I also am the editor of the SSA Newsletter & a member of the Philanthropy Committee & PR/Events Committee. I am a strong union supporter and truly believe that change doesn’t come from the top – it rises from the ground.

Hello, my name is Laken London and I have been with the university in Financial Aid as a Sr. Accounting Clerk for 2 years. I have been working on multiple committees within the union for about a year; events, communications, newsletter, and website. Starting this year, I have stepped down from events, communications, and newsletters but have taken up the Philanthropy Committee Chair, SVSU-SSA Website Coordinator, and the ESP Bill of Rights Campaign Captain. In my free time during the week, I enjoy decompressing by playing video games with my family. On the weekends in the summer, we do a lot of hiking to give the cat some time away from our 2 dogs; and if weather permits, a little camping and disc golf.
